Volcanic & Geothermal - Rotorua, Rotorua District
Mt Haszard Hiking Trail was opened in January 2005 and parts of the path use the original Round Trip walking route from the early 1900’s when tourists flocked to Rotorua, New Zealand, to view the Waimangu Geyser erupting. Beginning at Inferno Crater, the Mt Haszard Hiking Trail moves high above the Waimangu Volcanic Valley floor, providing spectacular panoramic views of the valley, the surrounding region, Rainbow Mountain, Mt Tarawera and Lake Rotomahana.
